OLDE TYME CHRISTMAS AND HOLIDAY CELEBRATION
SHOWCASES LOCAL STORYTELLERS AND MUSICAL TALENT

JACKSON: The Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum (JHHSM) and the Wort Hotel invite you to their Annual Olde Tyme Christmas and Winter Celebration on Wednesday, December 7, 2011. A part of the Wort Hotel’s “Twelve Days of Christmas,” the fun begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Jackson Room. Local storytellers and musicians regale the audience with great stories and heartfelt tunes reflecting the season. Hot beverages and cookies are provided by the Wort Hotel.

Storytellers include Reid Jackson, Will Dornan, and Ellen Wilson Tambor. Their Jackson Hole stories are interspersed with musical sets performed by professional musicians:  Kenny Hadden, and John Sidle. There will be an additional speaker and musician to be announced.

All storytellers have a long history in Jackson. Reid Jackson is a longtime resident and former Bridger-Teton National Forest supervisor. Ellen Wilson Tambor’s parents, Wendell and Mary Ellen Wilson purchased the Teton Valley Ranch in 1938, and she grew up and worked there. Her son, Will Dornan, will take the stage with her, and is owner of “Snake River Angler” at Dornan’s and also holds concessions permits for fishing and floating in Grand Teton National Park.

Kenny Hadden directed music programs in New York State and for the Journey Schools in Jackson. He has sung in a cappella groups, and with his strong voice will lead the audience in a Christmas carol sing-a-long. John Sidle, well-known to many in the valley, once performed as a regular in the Stagecoach Band. Today, he performs in various local and regional venues.

The program is free for current Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum members. Non-member admittance is $5.00. Individual, family, or partnership memberships are available at the door. Please call the historical society at 733-9605 for more information or visit www.jacksonholehistory.org. You can also find the Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum on Facebook.
