OUR MISSION
The Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum collects, interprets and preserves our unique heritage in an engaging and enriching manner. We tell the stories of the people who created the communities of Jackson Hole.
MUSEUM
105 North Glenwood Street
Founded over 50 years ago by collector Slim Lawrence and entrepreneur Homer Richards, the Museum is a place where the Old West is still alive. Our exhibits capture the spirit and the culture of the early days of Jackson Hole, Grand Teton and the Yellowstone region, featuring an outstanding collection of American Indian artifacts, as well as fur trade era tools and firearms, and items from the ranching and pioneer settlement era.
HISTORICAL SOCIETY
105 Mercill Avenue
The Historical Society houses the organization's research and heritage center, the permanent collections, and offices. In addition to a permanent artifact collection, the historical society features a library of Western Americana, research center with archival and biographical data, photograph archives, map collection, oral history collection, and manuscript archives.
